Position: 1st Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Reports To: Elementary Principal

Salary: $58,000 – $60,750 (prorated based on assignment length)

Schedule: Full-Time, November 1, 2025 – June 12, 2026

Position Summary:
Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School (LVA), a K–12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School located in Bethlehem, PA, is seeking a dedicated and collaborative 1st Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. The successful candidate will foster a nurturing, student-centered classroom environment while supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in all core subject areas aligned to the LVA curriculum and IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework.

• Maintain a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive, and conducive to learning.

• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

• Assess student learning, monitor progress, and communicate effectively with families.

• Collaborate with grade-level team members, support staff, and administration.

• Incorporate best practices in literacy, numeracy, inquiry-based learning, and social-emotional development.

• Fulfill all professional responsibilities, including participation in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field required.

• Pennsylvania Elementary certification required.

• Previous teaching experience preferred.

• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
