Job Summary:

Lehigh Valley Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Support Teacher for grades 9-12 Special Education. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of Special Education teachers to provide in-classroom support and small group instruction for students. This position is full-time and requires a candidate who is flexible and willing to provide coverage for teacher absences.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Classroom Support: Assist students in the classroom by providing instruction and support during assigned classes.
• Small Group Instruction: Lead small group instruction or testing sessions to reinforce lessons and provide additional support to students who need it.
• Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers to understand lesson plans and instructional goals, ensuring seamless support for students.
• Student Assessment: Assist in assessing student progress and providing feedback to classroom teachers to help inform instructional strategies.
• Classroom Management: Help maintain classroom order and discipline, following school policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred. 
• Interest in developing a career in education is required.
• Experience working with high school students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs and provide coverage as needed.
